Discuss your project

Make every screen state intentional

State 1

Loading

Show progress and allow navigation away.

State 2

Content

Render a consistent snapshot of the model.

State 3

Empty

Explain why there is nothing to show.

State 4

Failure

Preserve input and offer a useful retry.

In a SwiftUI interface, model changes drive what the user sees. A clear source of truth helps prevent screens from disagreeing about whether work has finished, whether a record is saved, or whether a retry is still running.

Design beyond the happy path

Active → interrupted → resumed

A user changes apps while a request is in flight. On return, the screen should reconcile its state without submitting the same operation twice.

SwiftUI or UIKit?

Assess the existing codebase, interaction requirements, platform support, and team experience. A focused feature can use the approach that fits it without requiring a full rewrite.

What should be tested on devices?

Test permissions, large text, keyboard interaction, connectivity changes, and restored state. Simulated success responses alone cannot establish the quality of a mobile experience.
